Richard and Faylene Whitaker are the dream makers of Whitaker Farms, they started this adventure back in 1975 when they started farming tobacco in Climax, NC.  Through Faith and Family the business has grown to include two locations, with the 64 location being the home site of the Cream of the Crop Ice Cream shop, a long time dream of Faylenes. 

Shane is the eldest son of Richard and Faylene and he shares his fathers love of tending tobacco.  He also serves on many boards and committies for Agriculture and is very active is keeping Farming alive in North Carolina.  HIs wife Kelly is an Engineer for Randolph County Soil and Water in Asheboro, NC, and is an active part of the business office at Whitaker Farms.  They have 2 children Chase and Peyton Whitaker.

Travis is the youngest of Richard and Faylene, and after college at Elon University he started the WF Waterscapes division of Whitaker Farms, he does waterfalls, ponds and outdoor hardscapes, as well as helps as needed on the farm.  His wife Shannon is a Sales Executive for Allscripts, and is currently the manager of the Cream of the Crop shop @ Whitaker Farms.  They have 2 children Lilly and Kenly.
